I know I'm partial to every family I work with but come on. Look at the girls dresses! I can't say how moved I was to take these photos as if it was some very small way of saying thank you to Hannah for all she has done for me. The beautiful mama in these photos is a Registered Nurse, a Lactation Consultant, a Doula, and a Farmer! She's not just any one of these things a little bit - she has super powers. She really does. I met Hannah through our Birthing Classes, but we also had mutual friends and I had heard really amazing things about her. We met individually and I cannot tell you how fast I fell in love with her. She made me feel confident and ready, but assured me that if I needed anything during my labor I could call her at any hour. She sent me off with meditation CDs, positioning flashcards, the whole nine! I love her. She's magic. So if you're ever in need of someone to milk your cows, assist you in all things motherhood, ease your worried mind - Hannah's the one to call. If you ever want to see the cutest kids, ever - she's also your girl. I'm really excited that we were able to do these photos, my favorite (besides how adorable the kids are) is how sweet Hannah and her husband are together. <3
Parenthood can be a challenging gig at times, but I'm pretty sure that 'drop the mic parent moment' is when your baby laughs and you're the reason behind it... this is arguably the best feeling in the world, because I know there are other ones up there; their first steps, when they hold your hand, when they finally fall asleep after 527 verses of rock-a-bye.. but in all the years I've photographed families - one of the most beautiful things to me is when a parent knows just exactly what to do to get their kid to laugh. I mean, they will do almost anything! They'll jump up and down and trot like a pony, they'll make crazy faces - doesn't matter how ridiculous - they'll do it! They know the favorite song, the best scene from a favorite show or book, the favorite silly face, the perfect tickle spot - all the things only a mommy or a daddy know that can turn on that infectious giggle... and it makes me fall in love with the families I photograph every_single_time.
I've known the mama to these two beautiful babies for many years and I can't say I've ever seen her look more beautiful or happy! Yup, she wears motherhood pretty darn well. I had so much fun with these guys! It is a feeling indescribable to see how much love children have for their parents and vice versa. I can't say it enough how much of an honor it is to get to capture these sweet blips in time! <3
What an awesome family! I got to meet with just the girls last year for Caeden's sisters senior portraits at Sonnenberg Gardens. She was stunning! This year, the whole fam met up to grab a few quick family portraits before shining the light on Caeden. It was great to meet them all! Caeden is awesome. It's tough to get in front of a camera but he did great! We had a couple laughs at the scenery, almost accidentally bombed someone's party, and even saw a little deer a few feet from us. Good times!
Caeden talked a little bit about his future plans - I'm so excited for his future endeavors! Over the last few years I've really enjoyed working with seniors, it's a time when so much is boundless, a time to start fresh! Looking so forward to seeing what's next for this one!
I have known Machlan's mama for years now - and it is just such a beautiful thing that we both have babies so close in age! I had such a great time doing this session by the lake. The forecast said rain, but we chanced it anyhow - and I'm so glad! It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. Such a breath of fresh air to talk about the new mom stuff, and so much fun to see all the great things Machlan can do! He is just the most handsome, isn't he?! I could just eat him up! His birthday is around the corner and I just can't believe it's already been a whole year. <3
I really love this family. I've been blessed to know them since Tommy was an infant, which feels both like yesterday and an eternity ago. They are such wonderful people! When I met Aimee I was like, "how can I make her my BFF?" Haha! Are we there yet, Aimee?! Just the most genuine parenting, loving and hilarious. It's more than obvious in the photographs! I thank my lucky stars I get to do this sort of thing as my job. Makes my heart beat funny and I get to make beautiful friends in the meantime! Looking forward to the next session and/or get together when I can see how much the boys have changed and what new exciting things they're up to!
Just look at all this cuteness! What a glowing mama - to a toddler and twin girls to boot! She's amazing. I just love this family so much - as I mentioned in Stephanie's maternity post, I've been with this family through some amazing chapters! So much love all around. I am so lucky to know these two and their wonderful little sweetie pies. I am so honored to get to work with them - and I'm looking forward to watching them grow! <3
Well. This took me right back! It's only been eight months since my little one was born but the beginning of her life and mine as a new mom was really a blur. It was hard for me to remember her being so small, until I held Madison. The sleepy snuggles, the swaddling, the yawns... as sleep-depriving and trying as it can be, it's such a magical time. Madison was just as sweet as pie. The love her parents have for her is undeniable. Such a beautiful family! Can't wait to see all that's to come for them! What a great adventure! <3
Last weekend I finally got to meet the latest edition to this beautiful family! I've spent the last few years photographing these wonderful people - and I was so glad to finally meet T! What an incredibly sweet family! We did these photos right at their home. They had such beautiful landscape right in their backyard - and it's always great doing photos where kids are most comfortable. The girls played in their sandbox and ran around the yard. These types of candid shots are my favorite. I had a blast - can't wait until the next time around! As I say every time, it's always bittersweet to see them grow. Time is a crazy thing! <3
