Things have been a bit quiet around here. I've been tooling around on some collaborative local projects with various artists and the like, working quite a bit. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather in the near future and new opportunities for photography adventures. I have some ideas working! I can't wait to tell you all about them!
In the meantime - I want to share some of my newest favorites..
one - You may have heard of Vivian Maier? If not - check out the story behind her work and/or peruse some of her street photography. It's been my latest, greatest source of inspiration.
two - I'm chomping at the bits to buy this book for the coffee table I don't have. This boys work is something. Jordan Sullivan's book The Young Earth is filled with over one hundred chimerical images, and every one of them I'm in love with. Quite dreamy and perfect, I think.
three - this is my latest coffee love: Bucket. All-natural products made in my brother's stomping ground: Portland, OR. I have a keen eye for newfangled ways to brew coffee - I love a french press (I have a white Bodum), pour-over is my day-to-day... my next purchase will likely be the Chemex or perhaps the Bucket. Hmm, I've had my eye on the Clever (which is the choice brewer at the local Ithican (whoa! and also NYC) coffee roaster Gimme!)
four - Hurraw! I quote, "all natural, vegan, and raw products made from fair-trade ingredients," nice. Added bonus, awesome flavors AND you can buy them at Wegmans!
five - All right, I've been obsessed with this veggie sammo I've been making lately (and by that I mean I'm eating it for lunch almost every day), it deserves its very own blog post - it's so simple. Ingredients: Two slices of multigrain Heidelberg bread (THE BEST, and at only $1.99 at the Co-op, it's a steal!), julienned pepper, super thin purple onion (a little goes a LONG way) six to thirty slices of cucumber (it's easy to get carried away, I love those guys!), a couple of leaves of romaine (I like the crunch but you could easily add any green you like, and last but not least the star of this whole shebang SPROUTS! *I use a combo of roasted red pepper and garlic hummus and also YUMM sauce to finish off the sando.* You can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this DIY Sprouts kit on Provisions / Food52 (which is an amazing site for all things food, seriously) this will likely be my next project and/or the micro-greens kit I've been eyeing (and eyeing) at Wegmans.
six - it's not a secret that I love nautical things - but whales.. maybe even more so! What's not to love? I need these measuring cups in my life! They are the cutest! Why not throw in matching bookends for the cookbooks?! :)
seven - I found this blog a while ago, but I've kept it a secret since. I like to take a peek at it with my coffee in the morning and think about how nice it would be to just hang out and read or write words and drink hot toddies all day.. anyhow - I think it's time to let the cat out of the bag.. because I think if you love words as much as I do, particularly really nice ones like murrma, and serein, and redamancy.. I'm sure you'll enjoy this space quite a bit. It's just too good not to share. <3
