it was such a treasure to photograph this family--
can you believe their are nine siblings?! nine of them! and of those nine; two sets of twins!
their family owns a small store a few minutes down the road from the house i grew up in. i loved going there when i was small after picking up pizza from martin's - i'd rent wayne's world or drop dead fred for the 100th time, and we'd pick up any other necessities (like diet coke in the can for my mom). i always thought about the day that i would actually be old enough to work there. i dreamt of the day actually. a day when i could drink all the mountain dew they had stowed away near the back door.
i can't count the number of times fred's store saved my life - times i absolutely could not live without brownies, or needed just a half cup more of sugar in my recipe, cooking mashed potatoes for dinner and then finding out there was no butter?! you didn't have to worry because: federal hollow. the glorious store that had all the basic essentials and wouldn't judge you if you showed up in your pajamas and a top knot. they had all you needed plus things you didn't even know you needed! like whoopie cushions!
the brown's are a tremendous family, both in size and in talent, and love, and kindness. it was so great to see them now with families of their own -- big, gracious, hilarious, adorable, and full of love.. i only wish i could follow them around more often!
so, when's the next reunion, guys?! ;)
