You know, sometimes you meet a family and you just feel this incredible bond. This little one was beaming with happiness through our entire time together! It was pretty moving to see how much love and pride these two parents had for their little boy. Pretty magical session. Sometimes life leads you to people that stop you in your tracks - I felt so connected to this family. We shared some laughs and we also shared some tears... and I left them that evening feeling really moved by the human spirit, and by our resiliency to not only survive extremely difficult times in life - but to show up for them, and give it all we've got. These three have an incredible bond and as you can see; a lifetime of extremely adorable moments ahead of them!
You know when you meet people and you just know they're the good stuff? That's this family. I met them two years ago shortly after Abby's debut into the world. I cannot tell you how adorable she was - but I bet you can tell after a glimpse at this session! Their newborn session happened during a time when all I was photographing was newborns! I believe that was because I was planning to start a family of my own. I remember holding Abby thinking about what it would be like to hold my very own baby. Now I have Emily, who is just a year younger than Abby - and so, I will always look at Abby in a special way. Seeing her reminds me of all the greatness I have to look forward to as Emily grows.
Can we talk about this magical and beautiful red hair, because it is breathtaking and photographing this family in the autumn has to be my favorite, ever. Abby's going to be a big sister very soon and I can't tell you how elated I am! Another sweetie to add to this beautiful bunch! Happy 2nd Birthday, Abby!
Whew! I don't know where the last six months have gone. It's been a busy summer and an even busier fall. In keeping up with this mom gig and my other half working an insane amount of overtime - I've gotten myself a little behind on the blog.
So here's a little mashup - from newborns to big sisters, one year old birthdays to sweet old pups.. I've had a blessed little season. Every year I grow a little more with this business - not much by numbers, but mostly in love. I get to meet new clients which is always exciting, but I also get to watch the families I've worked with throughout the years change, grow, love and laugh a little more. How lucky it is that I get the privilege of capturing it through my camera.
You all light up my world - thank you!
Senior portrait sessions are great for many reasons, but I think the best part is knowing that the person I'm working with is right on the cusp of so much! A new type of independence, new things to learn, a time for so much growth. This sweet girl is beautiful inside and out and I'm so glad we had the chance to meet and talk! We took the opportunity to grab some sister shots, made me super jealous I don't have one! These two are gorgeous! Such beautiful light down in Canandaigua for this session! I love it when that happens! Congrats on your upcoming senior year, Lindsay!
This girl! So much fun per square inch! I love this sweet girl and her family! That's actually an understatement... So many hilarious memories and moments with these guys. Samantha is going to do so many great things - I'm so excited to see all she embarks on. Congrats to your senior year, Manclaw! It will be over before you know it!
This beautiful family has worked with me several times over the last few years. I love the magic I feel when I'm with them. They are so much fun and so incredibly sweet. Hanging out with the girls is awesome - we talked about some of their favorite things to do and their favorite foods and snacks. Listening to them got me looking forward to when Emily's their age and we can do all the fun things they talked about! Getting to photograph families through the years as they grow and change is one of my favorite parts of what I do. It's so special to me! Can't wait to see what fun things they're up to next time!
Look at these cuties! These two were so sweet - they held out the entire session waiting for a bite of that cake! A cake their mom baked homemade. What an incredibly awesome family! It was a beautiful day for photos and a little bit of cake down by the lake. So glad I got to witness all this cuteness!! Those suspenders!! Looking forward to working with this great family again!
I know I'm partial to every family I work with but come on. Look at the girls dresses! I can't say how moved I was to take these photos as if it was some very small way of saying thank you to Hannah for all she has done for me. The beautiful mama in these photos is a Registered Nurse, a Lactation Consultant, a Doula, and a Farmer! She's not just any one of these things a little bit - she has super powers. She really does. I met Hannah through our Birthing Classes, but we also had mutual friends and I had heard really amazing things about her. We met individually and I cannot tell you how fast I fell in love with her. She made me feel confident and ready, but assured me that if I needed anything during my labor I could call her at any hour. She sent me off with meditation CDs, positioning flashcards, the whole nine! I love her. She's magic. So if you're ever in need of someone to milk your cows, assist you in all things motherhood, ease your worried mind - Hannah's the one to call. If you ever want to see the cutest kids, ever - she's also your girl. I'm really excited that we were able to do these photos, my favorite (besides how adorable the kids are) is how sweet Hannah and her husband are together. <3
